Jeff Cantin is the founder and President of Solar Alternatives and brings a decade of consulting engineering, and construction experience to the company. He is active locally and regionally in the area’s Renewable Energy trade associations and currently serves on the board of the Gulf States Renewable Energy Industries Association, the region’s SEIA chapter. Jeff’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rice University and graduates research in Semiconductors and Astronomy. He holds several statewide Masters Electrical Licenses, NABCEP PV and Thermal Certification, and is a member of the Louisiana Engineering Society, The Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers, and the American Solar Energy Society.
Dave spent the first 25 years of his career in manufacturing at Mechanical Equipment Company (MECO) as Customer Service Manager, Materials Manager, and VP of Manufacturing, MIS and HR. He implemented an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at that company and then moved to implement ERP systems for the software developer, Epicor. Dave has a BS in Business from ULL, an MBA from Tulane, American Production and Inventory Control CPIM and CIRM certifications, and IT and HR certifications.
Since 2013, Marc has led the Solar Alternative sales team and assisted thousands of commercial business and residential homeowners in understanding all the wonderful benefits of going green utilizing the current government incentive programs. Whether it is commercial or residential solar electric, solar ventilation, solar pool heating, or solar water heating, Marc is gifted at crafting several proposals for every project that grants his customers options to carefully consider before purchasing.
Cody Hancock is the quality control technician and commissioning agent with Solar Alternatives. He has 2 MW of solar experience, including installation and commissioning of the largest solar project in Louisiana. Cody received his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Iowa State University in 2016 and is certified by NABCEP as a PV Associate. Previously he worked as a mechanical engineer in Iowa designing HVAC and solar systems for the commercial sector.
Ronnie Chimento currently serves as a technician for Solar Alternatives. Ronnie is an experienced technician with five years of solar and twelve years of technical service experience. His experience ranges from installation projects in solar PV, solar hot water, solar attic fans, and solar monitoring. Also, Ronnie was part of a solar installation team that installed over 100 eighteen panel residential solar systems a week. He is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
Roy Devine brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Solar Alternatives, based upon an impressive 35-year career in contracting sales, licensing field operations to support, attraction development, and sports park ownership and marketing, locally, regionally, and abroad. Roy’s exceptional negotiation talent, his ability to connect with his clients, and his outstanding communication skills, and his multi-cultural experiences overseas uniquely position him to represent and market the company.
